About the Department

The Sol International School – Culinary Arts (Institut Lyfe Major) at Woosong University offers a forward-thinking program blending classical culinary techniques with sustainable, health-conscious cooking. The curriculum emphasizes international cuisines, nutrition, and environmentally responsible practices. Through immersive, hands-on learning, industry internships, and global partnerships, our students are prepared to lead in the evolving world of culinary arts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach 20 credit hours of practical culinary courses per semester.
  • Continuously update course materials to reflect industry trends.
  • Mentor students, support their academic and professional development.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation.
  • Engage in departmental committees and administrative responsibilities.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the department chair or dean.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in French Contemporary Cuisine or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience teaching or working as a Chef in French or Western fine dining.
  • Proficient in English for instruction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as Sous Chef or higher in a fine dining restaurant.

Tentative Courses

Courses may include, but are not limited to:

  • Culinary Skills 3
  • Culinary Production 3
  • Commissary

Note: Final course assignments depend on departmental needs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive, based on education and experience
  • Housing: Faculty housing (subject to availability)

  • Settlement Allowance: KRW 100,000/day (up to 15 days) for early arrivals
  • Paid Vacation: 20 working days annually
