About the Position:
Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) invites applications for a full-time, permanent professorship in Statistics with a focus on Data Science. The position is housed in the Department of Statistics, a research-driven unit specializing in high-dimensional data analysis, Bayesian methods, spatial-temporal modeling, and stochastic processes.
Responsibilities:
- 50% research and academic development (including PhD/postdoc supervision and external funding acquisition)
- 50% teaching, curriculum development, and administrative duties (reducible to 25% with research funding)
- Active participation in departmental life and engagement with the wider academic and professional community
Qualifications:
- PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science (with a strong research profile in Data Science)
- Documented scientific and pedagogical expertise
- Proven international research track record and publications in top-tier journals
- Experience in leading research projects and supervising doctoral students
- Excellent written and spoken English
