Faculty Positions at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan
The Department of Physics and the Institute of Astronomy at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), located in Hsinchu, Taiwan, invite applications for full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. Appointments will begin in February or August 2026.
We welcome applicants from all areas of physics and astronomy, and particularly encourage candidates specializing in quantum computing, experimental particle physics, or atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics.

Research Areas
- Condensed Matter Physics (Experimental and Theoretical): Strongly correlated systems, spintronics, nanodevices, ultrafast and nonlinear optics, surface science, superconductivity, soft matter, synchrotron-based research.
- Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics: Quantum optics, quantum metrology, precision laser spectroscopy, cold atom systems.
- Plasma Physics: Electron cyclotron masers, high-power sub-THz radiation sources.
- Astrophysics: Solar physics, stellar and planetary formation, compact objects, high-energy astrophysics, cosmology.
- Particle Physics: Supersymmetry, CP violation, neutrino physics, extra dimensions, particle astrophysics.
We foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment, with close ties to the Institute of Photonics Technologies and the Center for Quantum Technology, both located at NTHU. The Center for Quantum Technology, launched in 2018, integrates expertise in quantum materials and information science across Taiwan and contributes to the development of the second quantum revolution.
Responsibilities
- Conduct original and high-quality research in physics or astronomy.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in English.
- Supervise students and contribute to academic service.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated excellence or strong potential in research.
- Ability to teach in English (proficiency in Chinese is advantageous but not required).
